Brampton Real Estate Trends and Information

Brampton’s population is expected to be 1 million people by 2051, and will account for the majority of the Region of Peel’s population. In order to accommodate our growing population, the City of Brampton adopted the Brampton 2040 Vision in the Fall of 2017. Part of the 2040 Vision is to create a city with affordable, accessible and diverse housing which aligns with the needs of the residents. The City is already in the process of achieving this goal by beginning to diversify- with the introduction of higher density housing types such as stacked townhomes and apartment buildings. By providing a variety of housing types, the City broadens the scope for residents when it comes to choosing a house for sale including: affordability, family units, accessibility, and location to name a few. The City of Brampton works in collaboration with landowners and applicants in order to ensure a seamless application and approval process which will then allow for quicker and more efficient construction of housing projects. Additionally, the City continuously engages in housing market studies and consultations in order to assess market conditions, and identify housing challenges and gaps in the housing continuum. Some studies already endorsed by the city include: the Supportive Housing Review, Lodging Houses Review, Student Housing Review, and a Short-Term Rentals Review.
