Every year, the Welland Canal, a ship canal that passes through Port Colborne and connects Lake Ontario and Lake Erie, is commemorated with a Canal Days festival. Live music, a vintage car show, food, and other events and activities, including a closing fireworks display, are all part of the festival. Every year at the beginning of August, over 100,000 people attend the festival. The Port Colborne Historical and Marine Museum, which houses a collection of local historic buildings and artefacts; the Showboat Festival Theatre and the Port Colborne Operatic Society, both of which put on annual productions; and parks like Lock 8 Gateway Park, which has gardens and fountains, and H.H.
